WELCOME!I’m Lauren — a gentle wanderlust who lives in a little valley nestled between Sacramento and San Francisco. I embrace life’s littlest and most poignant moments, and share them here.
FOLLOW @theurbanhippie ON INSTAGRAM!You knew I loved you that day I watched you enter this world. You knew we were soulmates when, just a few weeks later, you slept in the palm of my hand as I bathed you under the warm water of the kitchen sink. Just weeks out of college, I wasn’t sure where I would work or live, but I knew you were my future; I used my first real-world paycheck to put up a fence that kept your little puppy curiosity from leading you too far from the back door. You were my twin, my comfort, my friend, for nearly 14 years. You were the best, the loveliest, the sweetest puppy child I never knew I needed. You kayaked with me when I didn’t want to go alone. You kept me warm and safe when we car camped. You made me smile every time you wanted to hug it out. There’s a Aussie-Chow-shaped hole in my chest, but I’d never trade it. I love you forever and ever, Sweet Sara.Getting my craft on. #Crafty #ribbon #tistheseasonThank you @kelli_takes_pics and @thatflowerladyjess for helping us getting our creativity on this holiday season. Kelli, Ryan, Olivia (Liv) and Maximilien (Millie) always remind me how much fun it is to get out and play in old barns, fields of horses and sinking sunlight. Love you and your growing familia, Perraults! @kelli_takes_pics #decemberreflections2018 #photochallenge #family #familyshoot #TheHorsesCameOutToPlayTooDec. 1 // Morning light // Our lovely morning light was dimmed by a storm, so I’m going back in my camera roll to one of my favorite mornings a few weeks ago. I wandered through Tahoe, pulling over for beautiful beaches and golden light (and coffee, of course). #decemberreflections2018 #photochallengeIt was such a full and lovely Thanksgiving weekend spent with so many loved ones at FOUR Thanksgiving and Friendsgiving celebrations. It was so great, I forgot to snap photos and only got these. I hope you felt the love this holiday. Christmas, here we come! #thanksgiving #friendsgiving #thankfulAnd tomorrow, we get a new sister! I was entirely charmed by Portland neighborhoods, where houses are old and crafted and the porches are big and welcoming. I could definitely get comfortable in a place where home owners aren’t afraid of bright color combinations, lawn art and … Continue reading
