A few weeks ago, I had the hankering to get out of town, but I didn’t want to go too far. My aunt felt the same way, so we decided to take the hour trek into the foothills and hit Sutter Creek. We went to experience the cheese shop (no pictures from there, but we did splurge on four cheeses and a fresh-baked baguette), and found a book store, a handful of antique shops, though we weren’t really interested in shopping. We meandered the small roadways with the dog and explored the old homes and leaves turning all shades of oranges and reds.
Where do you go when you need to … get away — without really going all that far?
