Sunday. It’s usually family day. Sometimes, it’s as simple as me cuddling with the dogs while I wait for another load of laundry to dry before another work week begins. Other times, the house and pool is crowded with bodies, both human and canine, as well as floaties and kayaks. That’s how it was last Sunday, when we destroy the kitchen during dinner prep (somehow even hot dogs and hamburgers cooked on the BBQ make the kitchen look like a World War 2 disaster … how is that possible?).
Grandma and grandma came over this past Sunday, and so did brothers and sisters and nieces and nephews. Some of us got wet and others sought shade around the yard.
I think Sophia’s getting comfortable with the kayak now. That means we’ll have to take them out to the river before summer’s up.We cooked up some summer faves:Sophia piled pistachio shells on her uncle’s head; Joseph just hung out with Grandpa talking, ya know, about guy things.Saying grace and giving thanks as a family:Back in the water before the last bite was swallowed:My grandma and grandpa:I love summer.
