Five Senses Monday

Hi friends. I didn’t mean to be M.I.A. for so long, but sometimes, life happens, ya know? It’s been a busy, wonderful, draining, relaxing, exciting, emotional, eye-opening and tasty July so far. I have tons of pictures to share, from beautiful birds to Renegade Craft Fair this past weekend in San Francisco. I’ve also been squeezing in as much pool time as possible (which hasn’t been that much, actually). Here’s a pic of Maggie underwater last weekend. I used my TtV camera contraption. I’ll do an entire post on this and the process soon.

But now it’s time for Five Senses Monday, where I reflect on the last few days through the five senses. Play along in the comments or on your own blog.

Smelling:
Fresh basil. Sunscreen. Supermarket bouquets. Spices in the Mexican aisle. Thrift store customers. Lavender-scented pillows. Homemade burgers and fries. Nectar and lorikeets.

Tasting:
Thai in the city. Corn nuts and pretzels. Marinated tri-tip. Lemonade cocktails. PB&J. Strawberry-cherries. A chai cupcake topped with a chocolate mustache.

Seeing:
The moon and the stars reflected on the river after dark. Fireworks erupting in the distance. Horses running. A man happy to be alive. Glow-in-the-dark stickers. Rapunzel locks. Sun rays from the bottom of the pool. Smiles and talking eyes. A gnome-shaped pillow.

Feeling:
The softness a purple pillow pet. Home. Quiet. A sunburn. Bummed, confused, worried, really happy. Bird bites. Doggie bites, too. Writer’s block. Lucky. Conflicted. The soothing of aloe. Excited to get away.

Hearing:
A duck swimming in the river. A humming fan. Stevie Nicks + John Lennon. Too many opinions.

Have a great week, everyone.

  1. Maggie says:

Yay for fun swimming times! I want to go play again. We should find a way to swim at lunch. Think about how much happier we would be? 🙂
Also, lemonade cocktails and glow in the dark stickers? You must share next time!
