Hi friends. This weekend was Relay for Life. If you haven’t heard about it, Relay is a pretty big deal. Teams get together and raise money throughout the year for the American Cancer Association. Our newspaper’s team is the LNS Cure Writers. At the end of the year, which was, technically, yesterday, all the teams in the city do a 24-hour relay around booths and camp sites.
I have a ton of photos to edit and share, but this is just a little preview of photos I stole from good ol’ Facebook. The good news is, our city raised about $190,000 for cancer. Yay! Oh, and we won most-spirited team, too!
Okay, scroll down for some silly photos and the weekly Five Senses. Happy Monday.
And now it’s time for Five Senses Monday, where I reflect on the last few days through the senses. I’d love if you played along and share your five senses in the comments or on your own blog.
Mini burgers and cheese sticks — a Relay drop-off from Amber’s awesome hubby.
Yelling as men in dresses strut their stuff around the relay course.
Lotsa love. Lotsa relief. Lotsa raindrops.
Flicker of candles lit for those who battled cancer.
The comforting aroma of fresh coffee.
