Art & Craft Overload {3}

Renegade Craft Fair was just as awesome and inspiring as I expected. There were more than 250 booths of funky, creative, crafty and indie crafters from all over the country. Maggie and I mastered San Francisco’s public transportation system and got to the fair at Fort Mason in the early afternoon. We stayed for quite a few hours and walked through about three times to make sure we didn’t miss anything. It was a great day meeting and seeing awesome people and artists, and we were only sad because my sister-in-law and friend, Stacy, was unable to come with us at the last minute (though she probably would have been embarrassed by our love for some of the artists). Anyway, here’s a look at Renegade. Let me know if you went and what you liked best.

Renegade was inside this HUGE pavillion!

First stop: Food at the Pavillion. Oh, and Maggie’s new Tom’s shoes. She loves ‘em.

Maggie and I were most excited about meeting two of our favorite bloggers, sisters Emma (of From Scratch) and Elsie (of A Beautiful Mess and Red Velvet Art). I’m not gonna lie, they’ve kind of become celebrities in our eyes. When we spotted the Red Velvet booth, (we had a mini freak out and had to collect ourselves), we eventually said hi. They were as sweet as ever, and it was fun to talk to them about their new shop and cupcakery and their recent roadtrip. It was one of those weird moments when you know a lot about someone who doesn’t have a clue who you are. Kinda weird, but very awesome. I never thought I’d want to go back to Missouri, but I can’t wait to visit the new Red Velvet Studios (plus, that’s where Maggie’s from. yay.). Maggie and I bought some super cute prints of Elsie’s painting. Thanks Emma and Elsie for being awesome.

Sharing a booth with Red Velvet was the incredibly cute Twinkie Chan (check out her site. All I gotta say is: Cupcake Scarf!). Maggie got a super cute cupcake coffee cozy.

Maggie bought a lot of buttons. OK, so did I.

I feel weird when people see me take their picture. I took this for my friend Laura because she loves Black Apple and I wanted her to see the pretty artist.

At the end of the day, we put our feet up before making the trek to the hotel (mind you, we carried our bags all day).

We finally put down all of our stuff in the room, and ate red velvet cupcakes while watching food TV.

And I spread out all of the business cards, stickers, buttons and cute little things from the day. Yay.

    So many different and funky things! Our craft fairs around here tend to be stale. But there was an “art show” not too long ago that was really more like an art fair… I dig supporting local artists.
